The Merciless by Danielle Vega

Get ready for:
 Mean Girls meets The Exorcist.
For mature audiences only. I will warn that there is bad language and disturbing images in this book.

When new girl, Sofia, befriends the popular, religious girls, Riley, Alexis, and Grace, she finally feels like she fits in somewhere. When Riley suggests the girls try to save gothic styled girl, Brooklyn, Sofia doesn't really give it much thought. But Riley's version of "save" is more twisted then Sofia could have imagined. Kept against her will, the girls preform an exorcist on Brooklyn, which also includes gruesome torture. But who in this group of friends can you really trust? Secrets are revealed, friendships are betrayed, and there is no end to the blood being shed. The only question is, once these girls have crossed the line, who is going to save them?

Danielle Vega's debut novel is flawless. Do not judge this pink book by its beautiful cover, it's pure horror; full of suspense, suffering, and a twisted ending to top it off. I also adored all the characters in this book, they were each so evil in their own way. The Merciless is definitely a hide under the covers after dark kind of read. This book is personally one of my top favourites and I look forward to reading anything else Vega writes.

Book 2: The Merciless II
Book 3: The Merciless III
Book 4: The Merciless IV

My Rating: 5/5 Stars
